Christmas Is Here!

Christmas Is Here!

There’s a particular kind of magic that settles over the countryside at Christmas. The hedgerows glisten with frost, the air smells of woodsmoke and pine, and the days feel slower — as if nature itself is inviting us to pause, warm our hands, and savour the season.

Here at Pebble & Holly, Christmas is our favourite time of year. It’s when our workshop glows with candlelight, our shelves fill with comforting scents, and every bar of soap feels like a small, thoughtful gift waiting to be shared.

Winter Scents & Simple Joys

As the days grow shorter, we find ourselves reaching for fragrances that feel grounding and nostalgic, warming spices, creamy vanilla, resinous pine and a hint of citrus zest. These are the scents that remind us of countryside walks, well-worn recipe books, and the gentle ritual of lighting a candle as dusk falls.

Our Christmas collections are always inspired by these moments. Each candle is poured slowly, each soap cut by hand, with the belief that everyday rituals — washing your hands, lighting a flame, tidying the kitchen — can be transformed into something quietly special.

A Handmade Christmas

There’s something wonderfully reassuring about handmade gifts at Christmas. They say I thought of you. They say I chose this carefully. Whether it’s a softly scented candle for a cosy evening or a nourishing soap wrapped in twine, these are gifts designed to be used, loved, and remembered.

If you’re creating a slower Christmas this year, we encourage you to mix handmade treats with homemade ones, the kind that fill the house with scent and bring people together around the kitchen table.

Which brings us to one of our favourite festive traditions…

Pebble & Holly’s Cosy Christmas Orange Biscuits 🍊✨

These gently spiced orange biscuits are perfect for December afternoons, lovely with a cup of tea, beautiful wrapped up as a small gift, and guaranteed to make your kitchen smell like Christmas.

Ingredients

  • 100g unsalted butter, softened

  • 75g caster sugar

  • Zest of 1 orange

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 200g plain flour

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • A pinch of nutmeg

  • A pinch of salt

Method

  1. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  2. Stir in the orange zest and vanilla extract.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Gradually combine with the butter mixture to form a soft dough.

  4. Wrap the dough and chill for 30 minutes.

  5. Roll out on a lightly floured surface and cut into festive shapes.

  6. Bake at 170°C (fan) for 10–12 minutes, until just golden at the edges.

  7. Cool completely before enjoying — or gifting.

Optional: Drizzle with a simple orange glaze made from icing sugar and a little fresh orange juice for a touch of sweetness.

A Season of Warmth

As Christmas approaches, we hope you find moments of calm amongst the sparkle, time to light a candle, bake something comforting, and enjoy the small rituals that make winter feel gentle rather than rushed.

From our countryside workshop to your home, thank you for supporting Pebble & Holly. Your love for handmade, thoughtfully made pieces allows us to keep creating, season after season.

Wishing you a cosy, candlelit Christmas and a peaceful start to the New Year.

All the best & see you in 2026,
